La Corte is a unique project comprising 25 luxury apartments and 500m2 of office space on Petrská Street in the Prague city centre, completed in April 2013. La Corte is themed around an Italian influence – with style, design and architecture expressed in a partnership with the Italian Architects Studio Pession Associato – specialists in renovation of historical objects while including modern elements. The apartments are newly constructed but nestled within a complex of 4 historical buildings, the origins of which date back to the second half of the 18th century, and set in a beautiful central courtyard. The development features unique architectural elements such as integration of external access corridors (pavlač) into the apartments, and offers the highest quality finishings including floor heating, central air conditioning, and marble bathrooms. Apartment layouts range from one to five bedrooms, and in sizes from 37m2 to 170m2. Services offered to La Corte clients include, among others, year round reception/concierge with security.
Credit for the unique Italian style of the whole project belongs to Studio Pession Associato, one of the most prominent architecture companies in Italy, known for designing, among other things, the Winter Stadium and Olympic Village for the XX Winter Olympic Games in Torino. The architects sought to preserve the buildings in their historical context while offering an excellent combination of quality, practicality, elegance, and modernity. A signature touch of this building are the large glass balconies facing the quiet courtyard, helping to create an illusion of living away from the busy city.
The Italian influence didn't end with the design of the building itself, however. As an option for purchasers of apartments, personalised furniture solutions, created by world-renowned architect Giulio Cappelini, Art Director of the Gruppo Poltrona Frau, were offered. With this furniture and combining modern and timeless items from Cassina with more classical, handmade furniture from Poltrona Frau as well as contemporary, innovative pieces from Cappelini, interiors that represent a true peak in the art of living were completed.
